Restorative Yoga – Rest and Digest
Restorative yoga is a quiet, therapeutic practice that is suited to ever
yone. We practice restorative yoga to reduce stress and initiate the relaxation response. Props, blankets, bolsters are used to create a supported lift, allowing the body to fully release all muscle tension and completely soften. All poses are practiced on the floor and are typically held for 5-15 minutes creating a sense of inner peace and calm.
Benefits of Restorative Yoga
As you relax and soften, the breath slows and deepens, the heart rate reduces and blood pressure lowers. Such great knowledge is learned while practicing restorative yoga and it is a great balance to your vinyasa or active movement practices.
